Well, the day has finally arrived!
I am currently sitting in SFO (wearing a dress, legging, a tanktop, a sweater, a sweatshirt, a coat, sunglasses, knee high socks, Uggs and a 25 pound backpack! ) awaiting the beginning of my journey! My 51.5 pound suitcase and 30.7 pound bag are being screened and handled. Liz and I have been texting all morning, my phone buzzing with excitement. We are hoping to spot each other before customs, but have an official meeting place at the gate of our last flight from Santiago to Valdivia.
It is 12:52:29pm California time, and I will arrive in Chile at 1:34pm Valdivian time, tomorrow. After nearly 20 hours of travel time (23 if you include the time I arrived at SFO!) I will land on Chilean soil.
My plans for returning are still hazy. Whether I will be in Chile for the short 4 months I had originally planned, or if I end up staying for 8 months, or 10, or even if I will end up flying from Chile to Finland I don't know. But what I do know is that the paddle is contacting the sediment for one final push off sending me on my way South.
If I have internet when I arrive in Chile I will update. If not, I will update later!
Audios amigos!
WHAT!!! I didn't know this 10 month thing was an option....I'm not too sure if I like it though. I love you and can't wait to hear about your trip!
